If your test is positive, our staff will determine the next steps, such as an ultrasound exam, and the best time to schedule that procedure. An ultrasound can confirm a viable pregnancy  and can give an estimate of pregnancy dating. This is valuable information if you’re considering abortion  or your pregnancy options. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) If left untreated, infections can cause irreversible damage to your reproductive system. Many STIs and STDs can pass onto newborns, which could lead to health concerns if the mother is infected and remains untreated. Life Options provides FREE limited STI/STD testing and treatment for men and women. Some of these STIs are treatable with medication and all should be addressed by a medical professional if the tests come up positive. STDs are not treatable with home remedies and will not go away on their own, even if you aren’t experiencing symptoms. Only testing confirms if you have an STI/STD.
